INTRODUCTION

Dieting is often a frightening prospect for most people. Taking the first step to losing weight is realizing that you need to. Half the battle is already over. Today, there is a lot of talk about Low Carbohydrate Diets. "So," you ask yourself, "what is this all about? Is a low carbohydrate diet right for me?" This book will present the elements of low carbohydrate dieting, and provide tested and proven recipes that will not only clarify, but de-mystify diet.

A low carbohydrate diet reduces carbohydrate intake by removing foods such as breads, potatoes, rice, sugar, flour, and corn, which are high in carbohydrates.

Below is an example of some foods that are high in carbohydrates.

Sugar

Cereal

Bread

Candy

Pastries

Potatoes

Cake

Rice

Certain Fruits

Non-Diet Sodas

Pasta

If you eliminate just these items from your diet, you will loose weight.

Of course, this diet is not for everyone, but it is a good way for many people to lose massive amounts of weight and feel better while doing it. There can be a 35 to 60 pound weight loss while on a low carbohydrate diet. Many people are also able to keep off a majority of the weight over time. Your results may not be as dramatic, however.

It is recommended that you check with your family doctor to make sure that your health situation is such that you can pursue a low carbohydrate lifestyle without danger. Always be sure to consult your doctor when you are about to make major changes to your lifestyle such as diets or beginning an exercise program as these may have an adverse affect on your over all physical condition if not properly monitored.
